Hop

CAUTION! This one is explosive! One of my most used ingredients and use able in basically any flavour combination.

If you play around with this ingredient, start small and burp daily! This is by far the most explosive ingredient that Ive used so far! While hop is an amazing ingredient for a lot of ingredients, I really love it in combination with bitter ones such as grapefruits or pomegranate.

There are various options for hop. Ive used fresh hop flowers (from a friend), hop tea (supermarket) as well as hop briquettes (brewery store) so far. The tea was the least pleasant, flavour wise but also texture wise as you have a lot of floating leaves in your brew afterwards. Using a tea filter during f2 works but also is kinda annoying. Fresh flowers are amazing, however hard to come by. Hop briquettes are by far the easiest to use option. They offer an very intense flavour and are not explosive (at least the ones I got now). However they also have more bitterness in taste than the other two options.

Usage

Note: For an intense hop flavour a 3 day f2 is not enough. Keep it in the fridge for another week for an amazing flavour!

Note: Hop is also a good addition for the sweet tea. Ive used 1g per litre in addition. This adds hop flavour but also some bitterness (which is amazing for herbal brews or if you aim for a beer taste).

Hop Tea

0.5g soft main flavour (EXPLOSIVE!)

I once used 1g of hop tea (in a tee bag) for F2. I had to burp it every day even when stored in the fridge.

Fresh Hop Flowers

5 pcs - soft main flavour (Explosive)

Used 10 hop flowers once, which was way too much. I was burping it twice a day and every time there was more pressure in the bottle than in normal bottles after 3 days without burping.

Hop briquettes

1g - very strong main flavour (without added sugar in F2, not explosive) 0.5g - strong main flavour

This one adds quite some bitterness and is the best if you want to go for a beer flavour.
