Basic F1 Recipe
This is my basic recipe for a first fermentation. It can’t get simpler than that. If you are new to brewing kombucha, I would suggest using this recipe over any other listed in this blog.
Sweet Tee
For each litre of sweet tee use:
- 3g black tee (unflavoured!)
- 50g sugar beet sugar OR 60g cain sugar
Fermentation Liquid
Fill your brewing vessel with:
- 1 Scoby
- 1/5 starter liquid
- 4/5 sweet tee
Fermentation Time
As fermentation time highly depends on temperature this one is hard to answer. In general I use those times as baselines:
- 7 days during summer (25+ degrees celsius)
- 8 days during autumn (around 20 degrees celsius)
